Frequently Asked Questions

Safety & Insurance

Is it safe to ride a motorcycle in Vietnam?

While city traffic can appear chaotic, your safety is our top priority. Our experienced driver-guides know the local traffic flow perfectly. Furthermore, our tours are designed to quickly escape the cities and focus on quiet coastal roads, the Ho Chi Minh Trail, and rural mountain passes where traffic is minimal.

Do I need an International Driving Permit (IDP) to ride?

If you choose to drive your own motorcycle (self-drive), you are required by law to carry a valid motorcycle license from your home country along with an International Driving Permit (IDP). If you are riding pillion (on the back of our guide's bike), no license is required.

What protective gear is provided for the trip?

We provide high-quality, DOT-approved helmets, protective riding pads for elbows and knees, and specialized rain gear. If you are a self-driving customer, we highly recommend bringing your own riding jacket and sturdy boots for maximum comfort.

What happens if the motorcycle breaks down during the tour?

Our fleet of Honda and Yamaha dirt bikes is professionally maintained before every trip. However, in the rare event of a mechanical issue, our guides are trained mechanics carrying extensive toolkits. They will fix the issue on the spot or arrange an immediate replacement vehicle so your tour isn't interrupted.

Does your company provide travel or medical insurance?

We do not provide personal travel or medical insurance. We strongly advise all our clients to purchase comprehensive travel insurance in their home country that covers motorcycle riding in Southeast Asia prior to arrival.

Tour Logistics & Itinerary

What exactly is an "Easy Rider" Tour?

An Easy Rider tour is an authentic motorcycle adventure through Vietnam. Instead of traveling by bus, you ride on the back of a motorcycle piloted by a professional local guide. You get to feel the breeze, smell the countryside, and stop anywhere you like, accessing remote villages and waterfalls that normal tours can't reach.

What happens to my heavy luggage during the tour?

There’s no need to carry a heavy backpack while riding! Every motorcycle is equipped with a sturdy, custom-built rear luggage rack. Your backpacks and suitcases will be securely strapped down and wrapped in heavy-duty waterproof bags to protect them from rain and dust.

Can we customize our itinerary and daily riding distance?

Absolutely! Flexibility is what sets us apart. We can alter group sizes, modify departure or termination locations, and adjust daily riding distances to perfectly suit your schedule and comfort level.

How many hours do we spend on the road each day?

A typical touring day involves about 4 to 6 hours of actual riding (roughly 150km to 200km). We make frequent stops for photos, coffee, cultural visits, and meals, ensuring you never feel rushed or exhausted.

Where do we sleep during a multi-day tour?

We partner with a network of clean, comfortable, and highly-rated accommodations. Depending on the location and your preference, you will stay in private rooms at local hotels or experience authentic hospitality in traditional ethnic minority homestays.

Booking & Payments

How far in advance should I book my tour or rental?

For peak seasons (November to April), we recommend booking at least 2 to 4 weeks in advance to ensure the availability of our best guides and motorcycles. However, feel free to contact us for last-minute availability!

Are meals and accommodations included in the tour price?

Our standard Easy Rider tour packages typically include the motorcycle, guide/driver, fuel, entrance fees, and your accommodation. Meals and personal drinks are usually paid separately, allowing you the flexibility to choose what you want to eat, though our guides will always take you to the best local spots!

Do you require a deposit to secure a motorcycle rental?

For self-drive rentals, we require a deposit (either a physical passport or a cash deposit, depending on the vehicle model) to cover potential damages. This is fully refunded upon the safe return of the motorcycle.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

We offer a full refund for cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the departure date. For cancellations made within 7 days, a partial fee may apply. In cases of extreme weather (like typhoons), we will happily reschedule or offer a full refund.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash (Vietnamese Dong or US Dollars), major credit cards (Visa/Mastercard), and international bank transfers. Please note that credit card payments may incur a small local processing fee.

How do I secure my reservation and make a payment?

To secure your reservation, we require a 30% deposit upfront. We highly recommend using PayPal for this deposit, as it is fast, secure, and the most cost-effective international payment method. You will receive a secure payment link from us once your itinerary is confirmed. The remaining balance can be paid prior to departure or in person.
